Temporary and ephemeral works
AS Perth can support the delivery of temporary and ephemeral public art projects, through:
Supporting other artists to deliver their vision – via site planning, technical advice, construction and installation services.
Collaborating with other artists in response to a brief.
Creating and delivering artistic projects by AS Perth
We have provided specialist installation services to several major events and festivals, including Perth Festival, Joondalup Festival, AWESOME and Perth Fringe Festival (formally Artrage). This has included managing the installation of large-scale, outdoor visual art experiences for several international artists, working closely with curators and coordinating installation crews to meet tight deadlines.

Featured Projects
Working with the Festival of Perth in 2012 with Choi Jeong Wha we helped to realise three large projects Air, Air; Breathing Flower; and a large installation of over 20,000 balloons at the Central TAFE Gallery.
The Air, Air project located in Queens Gardens next to Council House in the City of Perth consisted of cable tying 15 000 plastic baskets together to form two large triangles 4m high.
We organised and managed a team of 10 people to install these works over a 4 week period.
Scattered Light – Jim Campbell, USA
Scattered Light by US artist Jim Campbell was a temporary public artwork in Kings Park for the Festival of Perth in 2013.
Cascade of Light and Wonder - ABC
We supported the delivery of this project by managing and supplying ten technicians to assist in the installation and erection of this work.
We worked closely with the Festival of Perth, Kings Park and the artist team to ensure the timely delivery of this large scale and highly acclaimed ephemeral public art project.
Heads it Is – Paul Caporn
In 2021 our most recent project for Sculpture by the Sea, this work was installed at the top of the hill overlooking the beach.
This temporary artwork was commissioned by the Bendat Foundation Invited Artist Program for Sculptures by the Sea and will be exhibited in 2022 in Bondi, NSW.
The horse is made from HDPE, and the plinth is from marine ply and timber coated with epoxy resin.
Incident with a facade – Paul Caporn
This temporary artwork was commissioned by the City of Fremantle in 2014.
Attached to the exterior of the old Myer building in Kings Square in Fremantle before its renovations.
As a premonition of this building's potential future, the work was created alongside several others as a way to activate the old centre of Fremantle.
The façade of this building was removed with the renovation to the site completed in 2019 and is now the location of the Department of Communities.
AS Perth designed, fabricated and installed this work.
